Dear New Life Church,
As the Easter season approaches, it’s important for us to remember some truths. As Christians who are armed with the armor of God, we know fear will not win and hopelessness will not prevail. We have a risen Savior who overcame death, hell and the grave. Even in the face of some pretty scary truths, we know the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, lives inside of us who believe. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus who loves us.
It’s only been a couple of weeks, and yet, it’s so hard to believe that we are still unable to gather in person for worship. When will this end? Prayerfully and hopefully sooner than later. At NLC, we are trying our best to make contact with you and provide opportunities for you to connect. It will be quite different this year for Easter (April 12) as we will not be able to worship together in person. Whatever you do, don’t let this current situation stop you from celebrating our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. We have a special on-line service planned for you to participate in this year. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it. Be sure to join us online this Sunday, April 5th for Palm Sunday and next Sunday, April 12th for Easter Sunday.
In closing, I draw your attention to II Kings 6:16-17 - So he (Elisha) answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.' DO NOT FEAR. Church, may we find great hope in the God of this story. When it looks like things are bad and big things stand against us, ask God to open your eyes to see that there are more for us than against us. All of us on staff along with our elders and deacons are fervently praying for you.
Loving you from a distance,
New Life Church of Jackson
